The Art of Coffee with Caleb Nicholes and T.J. Semanchin
If you take your coffee seriously, please join us for a hands-on workshop put on by Kickapoo Coffee—artisan coffee roasters from Viroqua, WI. They’ll take you around the world with distinct flavors from different Fair Trade cooperatives. You’ll learn how to “cup” coffee while discovering what acidity, body and phrases like “intense layers of spicy fruit & a long, rich finish” really mean. Like a wine tasting, you’ll be able to compare different coffees side by side. A short slideshow will explain how organic coffee is grown and processed. We’ll roast coffee on our antique roaster and explore the science of brewing coffee. Students will leave with a 12 oz. can of fresh roasted, organic coffee and be one step closer to being a coffee aficionado.
