Blacksmithing: Sawtooth Trammel Chandelier with Robert Schulz
Students will forge an adjustable two-candle chandelier. The edge of the anvil will be used to forge the steps of the saw tooth trammel allowing the candles to be suspended at different levels. Anyone wishing to make a heavier sawtooth trammel for use over a cooking fire would be welcome to do so using the same techniques. Saturday night demonstration will be forging a couple mandrels and tapered swages to be used in making the candle cups on Sunday. Tapered candle cups will be forged from 1/8” steel, spread at one end and drawn to a tenon at the other. All joinery will be mortise and tenon or rivet.
