Repairing and Maintaining Farm Equipment with Joe Clark

Since moving to his farm near Viroqua, Joe has been acquiring equipment and has learned that there can be a huge difference between “field-ready” and just sitting in a field. Individuals sell used items, and sometimes mislead as to the true working condition. Machines and tools all can have hidden problems; Joe hopes that in sharing his experience buying and fixing, he can help others who want to equip their own farms. The class will spend time looking at various pieces of equipment, and addressing what to look for in condition, what repairs may be needed, and what that cost might be. Also, routine maintenance will be discussed, since it plays an essential part in extending the life of any machine.
