Healthy Humanure Composting with Amelia Baxter
Driftless Farm, Stoddard, WI, is an off-the-grid forest and veggie farm with passive-solar strawbale buildings and no septic system. The farm currently composts its humanure in 3 separate systems— a homemade worm and methane digesting flush toilet, an outhouse, and a commercial model of composting toilet. Learn from experiential tales, on-site demos, and suggestions from the larger movement of humanure composters. Participants will leave with an understanding of the do’s and don’ts of this safe relationship to our most intimate earthly by-product!
