This class will address the anatomy, physiology, and functioning of the horse’s hoof, causes of founder, navicular, ringbone and other debilitating hoof issues, and the basics of anatomically and physiologically correct hoof trimming. Live or cadaver comparisons of correct or pathological hooves will be discussed. All equine disciplines can greatly benefit from this class. A hoof dissection detailing the internal structures of the hoof and how they apply to trimming the hoof correctly, as well as a demo trimming a live horse, explaining trim details, will be included.
