Karst Geology of the Driftless Region with Kelvin Rodolfo
While enjoying the beautiful, wooded, coulee-carved Driftless landscape, participants in the class will learn how caves, sinkholes, springs, and other elements of karst landscape are formed, how they render the groundwater and streams so vulnerable to contamination and pollution, and how to recognize, describe, and report them to State authorities. The course will consist of a two-hour lecture and question-and-answer session, followed by a 2-3 hour tour of representative karst features around Viroqua.
