100 Mile Meal - Class and Dinner

Come enjoy an excellent one-of-a-kind local and seasonal dinner experience led by chefs Luke Zahm, Dani Lind, and ten Driftless Folk School students. All featured ingredients are produced within 100 miles of Viroqua, WI. This feast is a collaboration of the Driftless Folk School, Viroqua Food Co-op, Driftless Cafe, Rooted Spoon Kitchen Table, and local farmers. Students work alongside talented, generous chefs and learn about local food, arte de cuisine, and restaurant service practice.
This meal is a fundraiser for the Driftless Folk School. Only 65 guest capacity so purchase your tickets today!

Driftless Spoon Gathering - 4th Annual
Date: Sept 10-11, 2016 (optional arrival Friday, Sept 9 for camping)
Time: Registration and coffee at 9:00am, demos at 10:00am and throughout the day
Cost: $15/individual or $25/family
Location: La Farge Village Park, La Farge, WI (separate $10/night fee for camping payable to La Farge Village)
In this two day skill-sharing event, spoon carving instructors and carving hobbyists gather together to carve, learn and share techniques. All levels of experience are welcome, and beginners will be well cared for.
Listen to the sound of hatchets hewing and help fill the floor with wood shavings. Enjoy the tradition of a Spoon Pass and the opportunity to purchase spoons, bowls, and tools from artisans. Basic carving knives and sharpening supplies will be available on loan to beginners and also available for purchase. Bring spoon blanks and green wood if you have them, and don’t forget a lunch and snacks to keep you going. Coffee and tea will be available. Bring something for a potluck gathering Saturday evening. Camp in the park Friday and Saturday night, if you like, for community campfire and stories.
Driftless Folk School Annual Fall Festival

Once a year, we gather with community to celebrate another year’s bounty and our progress developing the Driftless Folk School Campus. Activities include fresh apple cider pressing, pumpkin carving, fall crafts, music and of course PIE eating! Please join us for our 3rd Annual Gathering on the Land.

Join us for RampFest, the Driftless Folk School’s annual gathering to mark the beginning of Spring! RampFest is a daylong community event on Saturday, April 30th celebrating ramps, local wild foods, folk skills, and community at B&E’s Trees outside Newry, Wisconsin. The farm is a working commercial maple syrup operation that is full to the brim with the flora and fauna of forested land – which means ramps! Throughout the day, attendees will have an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics from DFS instructors in three organized educational sessions. Hands-on workshops include sustainable ramp harvesting, spring ephemeral and tree identification, maple syrup production, spoon carving, knot-tying, primitive skills, and more! RampFest is a family friendly community event.
