Robert has been blacksmithing since 1996, focusing on the techniques of traditional joinery. He has been a student of UW-LaCrosse, U. of Wales-Swansea, John C. Campbell Folk School (NC), and Tillers International (MI), and has worked on several organic farms in the U.S. and abroad. Along with ironwork, Robert has been focusing on alternative building and carpentry, while he and his family have been setting up the infrastructure of their 40 acre homestead. Their practices include draft animal power, stonework, maple sugaring, and beekeeping.
