Making Hard Cider || with Bjorn Bergman

Do you dream of sipping a cool, crisp, bubbly, and refreshing homemade hard cider with your friends and loved ones? Take this class and learn the art and science of making hard cider at home. Topics covered include: choosing apples, pressing apples, sanitation, different ways to ferment apple juice, monitoring fermentation, bottling, and tasting cider. Participants will leave class with a small batch of cider to ferment at home. Must be 21 years of age or older.

Instructor bio:
Bjorn Bergman is passionate about growing food, saving seeds, and eating seasonally. Each growing season, he and his family keep a large garden and love spending time preserving the harvest by drying, canning, freezing, and fermenting. Beyond the garden and kitchen, Bjorn dabbles in a little bit of this and that including mountain biking, juggling, spoon carving, cidermaking, and birdwatching. He lives in Viroqua, Wisconsin with his wife Heidi and son Ardea.
