This day long foraging course will begin with some exploration, learning and sampling various fall edibles, from roots and greens to late fruits and nuts. After a wild lunch, we will delve into processing of our various local nut crops. Much of this will be focused on processing acorns but we will also cover (and eat!) black walnuts, Shagbark Hickories, Bitternut Hickories and others. If you've wanted to start making more use of the abundance of Autumn in Southwestern Wisconsin this is your chance! Some traversing of irregular ground will be necessary in this course.
