Knots, one of the oldest technologies developed by humans, have applications in many aspects of modern life. This class will start with basic theory about knots and rope. We will learn about categories of knots with emphasis on learning suitable knots for various applications. We will move on to fancy and decorative knots. Finally, every participant will have a chance to make one or two small projects to take with them.
(Instructions: You may wish to bring a water bottle, snacks, or something to take notes with. This class will take place primarily indoors.)

Dave Shapiro is an outdoor educator currently working at River Bend Nature Center in Racine, Wisconsin where he teaches canoeing, kayaking and environmental programs. Dave spent many years leading scout groups on multi-day wilderness adventures.
