A day devoted to seeking Nature's wintertime secrets. We will explore the marshes, forests, and meadows, and learn what great opportunities to connect to the land this season offers. Though largely an exploration there will be lessons on recognizing tree species by bark and form, seeing sign of illusive local mammals, learning how some of our smallest birds tough out winter, and even learning what nutrition and medicine the winter wilds offer us. Winter can quickly turn from a burden to a bliss with the right gear, an inquisitive mind, brisk movement and connected engagement with the snowy wilds.
