One Day Spoon Carving, with Nicholas WazeeGale

Come join in the satisfying craft of carving useful utensils from local woods! In this one day class we will cover the basics of carving with Mora or sloyd knives, including various knife strokes, reading and relating to wood grain, roughing out spoons, safety, maintenance of tools, and finishing of pieces. This will be a hands-on yet basic class; you will get a good introduction to the important aspects of carving and some good hands learning of the process, but our projects will be simple, and some aspects will only get a rudimentary explanation.
