Sourdough Bread, Pizza, and Treats

Instructors: Lauralyn Rosenberger and Mason Purtell

Gain a new pet to cherish and take care of in this full day sourdough intensive class. You will see the entire process from feeding and maintaining the starter to mixing, shaping, and baking beautiful loaves
of bread of old world quality. We will also explore some uses for excess starter (crackers, scones, donuts), old bread (croutons, meatballs, bread pudding) and make sourdough pizza for lunch.

You will get a glimpse into the rhythms of being a sourdough baker and the joy that comes with it. This course will be very hands on so come prepared to get messy. You will leave this course with the confidence and tools needed to bake your own sourdough loaves at home.

You will receive a sourdough starter pet, a banneton and towel for proofing your bread in, a ready to bake loaf of bread for your dinner that night, Organic locally grown bread flour from Meadowlark Organics Mill and Farm, a bench scraper, and lots of snacks and treats from our day of making.
