Traditional Spoon Carving
Instructor: Nicholas WazeeGale
This two day spoon carving workshop will cover all the processes necessary to start carving spoons from log to finishing. We will learn about good spoon design and structure, riving, wood grain, and basic carving strokes with some projects the first day, and progress with some time for actual spoon work later in that day. The next day will allow us to implement more of what we learned on another spoon or two and dig into learning sharpening, finishing and axe work to round out our full introduction to traditional spoon carving. Some carving experience and hand strength will be helpful, but this is a beginner class.
