About the Event:

Timber Framing Class 

Master the art of timber framing in our immersive 5-day class! Learn and apply square rule methods to construct a small, beautiful timber-framed structure. Benefit from expert guidance, hands-on construction, and a comprehensive understanding of timber framing principles. Work with quality materials and join a supportive learning environment.


Location 

Classes are held at our heated shop in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. When the the weather permits, we also like to work outside under cover. Ellsworth, is 30 minutes south of Hudson, Wisconsin and about an hour southeast of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota..


Limited to 8 Students


Required Equipment

Framing Chisel 1 1/2" or 2" - If needed, you can reserve your Star Hill chisel ($170) via the checkout process; your chisel will be available the first day of class.

Sturdy works shoes (we like protected toes)

Ear Plugs

Safety Glasses

Gloves

Dust Mask (optional)

Covid Mask (optional)  


Accommodations

Primitive camping and lunch daily is included with the course fee. If you have dietary restriction, let us know. Students have access to a grill, outdoor shower, outhouse, refrigerator, an eight foot fire ring, and plenty of space to spread out and relax. Normally, once or twice during the week we burn a big fire, cook some brats, and drink a cold one.

If you prefer the hotel or VRBO option, Red Wing, Minnesota is 11 miles away with plenty of accommodations.


Workshop Fees/Equipment

Class Fee = $1250.

A $600 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your spot, the remainder is due the 1st day of the class.


Ticket Types (Select when you checkout) 

Class Only ($1250) - $600 nonrefundable deposit, $650 due on the 1st day of the class

Class + Star Hill  Chisel ($1420) - $600 nonrefundable deposit, $820 due on the 1st day of the class

Class + Kit ($2000) - $600 nonrefundable deposit, $1400 due on on the 1st day of the class
