This beginning spoon carving class will take those in early stages of carving through all the aspects of carving useful and beautiful spoons and flatware. We will cover woods, harvest, roughing with the axe, function and aesthetics, carving with both sloyd and hook knives, all basic knife strokes, and peripheral skills like tool selection, sharpening, and finishing. We will make spreaders, eating, and cooking spoons.
Ages: Adults only, 15 & up with parent
