  • Hands-on: “Looking in a hive”

  • Questions and discussion

Please bring protective equipment if available to you. If you are not interested in looking at a hive up close an observation hive will be available.

Pollinator Pals: Understanding and Supporting the Insects in Your Garden, with Willow Lovecky

Come explore and learn about pollinators! In this class we will learn basic identification skills of insects commonly found on flowers. We will talk about bees, wasps, flies, beetles, butterflies, and more! With both a lecture and field portion, we hope you will leave with a basic understanding of pollination ecology, the ability to identify common pollinating insects, and knowledge to begin supporting native pollinators in your own backyard!
