Donate to support the Driftless Folk School!
The Driftless Folk School began in 2006 when a group of neighbors in rural Viroqua met around a cozy woodfired masonry stove on a cold January afternoon to discuss how they could build community and share skills and knowledge for resilient and sustainable living. From these humble beginnings, DFS has been a locally rooted, grassroots effort depending on thrift, creating problem solving, countless hours of volunteer labor, and generously shared resources including facilities, tools, food, and money. For nearly 20 years, we are proud to have been able to enrich our community and the lives of hundreds of class and event participants while remaining affordable and welcoming.
As we approach the end of our second decade, DFS has begun to build a small, but mighty professional staff and to expand our offerings to include community singing events, workshops with school groups, and programs for young adults through the Driftless Folk School. To ensure that our programs can continue to be financially accessible for all while also appropriately compensating our instructors and staff, we need your support! We welcome offers of volunteer time and expertise, tools and materials, and use of spaces and facilities. We also are delighted to receive financial contributions, either as one-time gifts or as monthly sustaining donations via PayPal.
All charitable donations made to the Driftless Folk School are tax deductible through our umbrella non-profit entity, Thoreau College, Inc. (EIN: 51-0573715).
Thank you for your support!
